Opening the Michael Jackson Opus
I Received my Official Michael Jackson Opus coffee table book by Federal Express on December 17, 2009. I think it Requires Some Kind Of podium, not just a coffee table. It's really tall and heavy. I like it so far.

I was too paranoid to show pictures or play his music in the background. I don’t want my YouTube account to be wiped out. Otherwise, I would have shown a few more pictures…but then again, it would ruin the surprise for everyone, anticipation is half the fun. Happy Holidays to you, too.

Yeah, it’s real! Real Heavy! LOOL!! I pre-ordered it in August and it cost much less, I think it was $165 or $169. I see it’s now $240. Some people are getting it for less on Amazon and other places.

It would be a Trillion-Billion times better if he was still alive.

my box was identical to yours!
January 17th, 2010 at 10:49 pm
I looked at some of your other comments. Are you saying that there are different boxes out there other than the one we received? If so, that’s pretty clever of the Kraken company, because they definitely didn’t advertise it that way.

Yes, I have it like you have with red box and black book inside but if you go on google and just write MJ opus, the firsts pics you’ll see will be the pics of the “other” Opus (black box and red book) the truth is that I like this one better, that red box has a beautiful red and I like the book in black, but I saw on internet that also some pics are different…
doesn’t matter
is GREAT!!!!!

I figured it out. The official publishing date was 12/7/09. The pictures of the BLACK BOX & RED BOOK are before they made final decisions about design. But they needed something to present to the public in the news and print and that’s why the colors are reversed. They are mostly from July & August when they first started marketing the book for pre-order, etc. I’m glad they chose RED BOX & BLACK BOOK, too.

Ok, so they choose the red box and the black book for every Opus it the world, is it right?
ok great choose, is wonderful this way!

January 18th, 2010 at 2:12 pm
Took me longer that that!!!!!! LOL
January 18th, 2010 at 2:14 pm
That’s MJ for ya……… I really don’t think there is a red book. I am getting another one. If it shows up red, I will be flying to the moon without a shuttle.

It is even more of an adventure to re-arrange the livingroom to accomidate it.

r
that is heavy.. omg how muhc is it?
January 22nd, 2010 at 3:15 pm
It is 26 pounds which is the weight of a 3 year old child. It’s the size of one of those Atlases you see in the library that sits on a podium. For the price you’ll have to go to the Kraken Opus website or eBay or Amazon or something. I pre-ordered so I got a great big discount.

can you make a video of you looking thru the entire book so those who cant afford it can see some of its pages =)

I got my Opus delivered to my workplace. I had to use a cart to take it out to my car l.o.l. It was that heavy 26.5 pounds. boirlesnow you looked like myself getting the Opus out of the box once I got home. Funny!! I like the hehe part when your lifting the book out of the box, cute. I’m sure Mike got a good laugh out of that too.
February 15th, 2010 at 12:37 am
Yes, yes. The “hee, hee” is the magic sound that gives you the power to take the book out of the box. LOOOL!! It worked for me.

Its an amazing book. I was blown away by the size and weight. And the quality is second to none. If you can get your hands on one, do it. But go to opus not ebay or somewhere like that
