Thanx for posting this my friend! 5 *****
He was part of a genre that appears to be a lost art. Too bad cuz it’s really missing in the current music industry, by me at least. His quality, passion, and originality put him in an elite group regardless of his record sales and fame.
gonna play it again…peace

Some great footage of his lifetime. The man was a prodigy.. He was one of those people that spoke and it was poetry every time.. You seriously got to admire that… Once again the good ones die young.

Gotta love Townes…

Oh yeah, this is one of the great songs to me. Thanks for your heartfelt tribute. Just remember out there: Townes was one of the great songwriters IN THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE. There’s a whole big other world of brilliant songwriters who write in a language other than English. That expressed, wow, was Towne amazing.

No greater songwriter/guitarist/singer than Townes Van Zandt, and I’ll eternally stand by that.
December 15th, 2009 at 10:42 pm
Pretty sure you’re reffering to the Steve Earle comment from 1997, “There’s no better songwriter than Townes Van Zandt, and I’ll stand on Dylan’s coffee tabele and tell him that ” !!??!!

Johnny Cash and Buddy Holly are better IMO.
